Fine Arts Day Camp
by John Jacobson
This year, all Fine Arts Day Campers will experience the kind of collaboration that only musical theater can provide! They'll be preparing and putting on a mini-musical featuring seven original songs and dances, an interwoven script, and skills that are aligned with the National Standards for Music Education! Each day will be packed with fun-filled arts experiences making sets, scenery and props, learning songs and dances for the musical, and learning their lines (each Camper will have spoken lines)!
Dates: August 10th-14th
Times: Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm
Final Performance: Friday @3pm in Cochrane Fellowship Hall
Daily Food: Morning Snack, Hot Lunch, Afternoon Snack
Limited to: 50 Campers
Registration Deadline: we need a minimum of 35 campers by Wednesday, July 22nd (or we'll need to cancel FADC 2020)
Since 2009, Fine Arts Day Camp has been a significant part of extending our mission to serve the community with commitment, conviction, love, and
compassion through a fun day camp experience for our community's children! This creative week culminates in a performance by the campers for their loved ones.
Each year, we serve 50 children, 2nd Grade through 7th Grade, and provide enriching lessons in choir, Christian education, dance, drama, music, and visual arts. Our lessons and activities are focused on a yearly theme chosen by our staff.
Professional Staff are hired to teach and provide healthy meals and snacks for campers. Volunteers may work in the kitchen, assist teachers, and help in the lunchroom. Both our Staff and Volunteers serve under the leadership of our current Fine Arts Day Camp Director, Justin Kamp.
